The two ways to comply to SOLAS Directives requiring an accurate and verified gross mass [VGM] of any packed container for transport at sea are illustrated above. SCCS is a SAMSA accredited 3rd Party Certification Body. We certifiy Method 2 at the Shipper’s site or where the Containers are contract packed on behalf of the Shipper.
From 1st July 2016 every container presented to a South African port must be accompanied by a signed declaration of the exact weight of the packed container – the VGM. No VGM = No Load.
